Jared worked his 12 hour graveyard shift last night so this morning he came home and slept for a few hours. I woke him up at 1:30 he got ready while I finished packing things up for our picnic. Jare is not a fan of picnics, but I have been wanting to go on one for a long time so he agreed.

First on our list was to go visit Jared's grandpa's graves. They both looked very nice - with lots of flowers! Jared told me his Mom had been to her Dad's grave and cleaned it all up using
some chemical and a tooth brush! It looked just like new. It was nice to see the graves and think about families and to remember their service for our country so many years ago.
(All of our Grandpa's served in some way with the Air Force.) My Grandpa's grave is in Nevada so we couldn't go out to see it today, but hope to go see it sometime this summer!
We then drove to the park and had our picnic! It was SO cold. Somehow we got lucky and the rain stopped while we were at the cemetery, but was very windy and cold while we were at the park.
Jared is freezing cold here in this picture! He was such a good sport though suffering through the cold for me. (I offered him the blanket I was sitting on but he said No!)
During our picnic this sea gull was determined to eat lunch with us! We threw him some chips and watermelon on the ground, he just kept getting closer and closer. He jumped up on the table right next to us - so we threw him another chip.
As we were leaving the sun started coming out but it was still really breezy!
It was a lot of fun, just the two of us having a little
picnic in the park, talking, joking and laughing.
I love that we are starting our own traditions!
This isn't the best picture of us but it was windy and sun was in our eyes!
On our way home I pulled over on the side of the road by this pond to take a picture of this cute little Swan family! When we were going to our picnic we past the pond and they were out there swimming - it was so dang cute. So on our way home they were just getting out of the pond and I had to take some pictures. Just look at these cute little fuzzy baby swans!

That is fun! I love picnics too. It must be guy thing to not like girly cute things. But they suffer through it for us. I think that is the first time I have EVER seen or heard of Jared being cold. He probably enjoyed it. Um, for next year, I ran into to Grandma Jack at the grocery store today and told her that Clint and I went to Evergreen Cemetary yesterday and saw Uncle Ronnie's, and Our Great and Great Great Grandma and Grandpa's graves. She said well did you look at ours. Apparently the Jacks already have there plot and the Head stone to mark it. I went and verified this this afternoon. It is by the little building in the new part of the cemetary if you are interested. It says Jack Brandon instead of Claus Brandon. So that will screw up the geneology since that is not his given name. I could go in but I have taken up too much space already. Happy Traditioning!!! Love you! Talk to you soon.
I heart traditions. Mike says I am the queen of traditions. I think a Memorial Day picnic is a grand idea.
Fun! Me and Braid don't really have any traditions...we kind of just do what are parents do. But I think we should start! It looks like you guys had A LOT of fun! Congrats on the new tradition!
