Whew! What a fun weekend.

Last week Jared and I watched my sister's kids over night. It was a lot of fun. Jared was trying to teach Millie and Xander how to play the guitar - it was hillarious! Millie was so excited to have a sleepover with us and Xander LOVES Jared. Our crash course in parenting went great. No problem. Eat dinner - Uncle Jared was the hero when he walked in with Wendy's kids meal, clean up dinner, play guitar, do asthma breathing treatments, read stories, take vitamins, brush teeth, put Xander to bed - asleep, no worries. Repeat again with Mille, put her to bed, sit in the rocking chair so she is not afraid of the dark, go get ready for bed myself, 10:30 pm go to bed, sleep. Oh wait it is 11:30 pm and Millie thinks she needs to come in to sleep with us. Move over and give her room, listen to Jare snore, feel a little heater snuggle in closer, no sleeping. 2 am take Millie back to bed, go back to bed myself and sleep. Noise coming through baby monitor, it's Xander, check on him, just moving in bed, I get back in bed. 5:30 am Jared wakes up and goes to work. 7:40 am the little ones wake up! WHAT! WHY???? Breanne has her kids trained to SLEEP IN! So I stay in bed until 8. Change a diaper, make Breakfast, eat, clean up, get kids dressed, brush teeth, take a mini nap on the couch, play play-doh, wash hands, read stories, watch T.V., get treats, try to make a little boy share, play on floor with toys, make play-doh shapes again, Breanne and Clint come home and I am still not ready for the day! Now tell me why for some reason Jared still thinks we don't need kids just yet?

Moral of the story: Being a Mom is a hard job but so much fun! I was just having an Aunt Digga sleepover but still would not recommend waking up one day to being a mother to a 18 month and 3 year old! Whew! Breanne is a wonderful Mom. You should have seen how excited Xander was when they got home. To Mom's everywhere - you are amazing keep up the good work!

P.S. Has anyone seen a post by Jared yet????

PICTURES!!

I was able to get some pictures from a CD that I had from our wedding onto the blog! Yeah!! PICTURES! That means this is an exciting blog now that you need to read often. Once I figure out how to post pictures from the digital camera I will. I am so excited! You should see me now! I am 23 years old and so giddy that I just posted pictures on my blog. How lame is that? The picture that is posted here is of our engagement night, March 03, 2007. About 45 minutes after this was taken at Macaroni Grill we got engaged!

NEW LOOK!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! KRISTINA, you are the best friend a gal could ask for! Thank you for putting the background on my blog - it looks great now! Also thanks for going to get ice cream with me tonight. I miss hanging out with you - aahh, girl talk! I love it! Tonight was fun. Our 15 minute date in the Durango with our husbands was funny, we should have taken a picture of Jared and Brady in the back eating Carl's Jr together! Thanks again for your help.... but most of all for introducing Jared and I. We love you guys, you're simply the best couple!

Ugh! Jared is a work! or is it Sweet Jared is at work!

It's a Saturday night and here I am all alone! I don't like Jared's weekend working at the hospital. I'm not a fan of the silence in our apartment - okay we have two 3 year olds that live above us, it is not so quiet! I do appreciate all he does for providing for our family, but I just want him to be here with me. Even if he was sleeping I could hear him snooring and know that he was here!

Random thought here but, I really want to go to Coldstone and get some ice cream! Who goes and gets ice cream by their self on a Saturday night? I guess it will be me if I decided to get out of my PJ's and go! Shhh, don't tell Jared - we are on a diet! So I guess having him at work tonight when I want some ice cream isn't so bad after all ;) I could call my MIL she's just 4 doors down - but she thinks I am still normal so I better not. (Random cravings for ice cream is not normal! I didn't just go to a movie, have girl talk or any other thing that is a normal ice cream craving time. Besides she might think I was pregnant if I called her up to go along with me down town in pursuit of a random craving.) I could drive to Springville and get my mom or sister but then I would just have to drive back to Spanish Fork to get that ice cream that I want! Enough talk. It's time for action! I am going to enjoy that ice cream that I keep talking about! I guess it really will be "SWEET Jared is at work tonight!!"

Grandpa Hap and President Hinckley

January went by so fast! Tomorrow will be our 9 month anniversary! It is so fun being married. I'm not saying it is not work - I am saying that it is a lot of fun and so much better than being single! Being married means you have someone to come home to at night - or in our case every few days when we are not working opposite schedules.

Yesterday was Jared's Grandpa's (Hap Johnson) funeral. It was a very nice funeral, he was a funny, hard working man. I met a lot of Jared's cousins, aunts and uncles that I had never met before. We were able to be by Grandpa Hap's bedside when he passed away last Friday. He so quickly and peacfuly passed from this world! We are so grateful we were able to be there telling stories and jokes with 2 of Jared's uncles and his mom. I felt it made the transition easier to have his family around talking and joking about happy times in his life. My favorite memory of Grandpa was whenever we would leave after visiting him in the resthome he would grab Jared's arm and say "If you ever mistreat your good wife I will beat the puckey out of ya!" It would make me laugh everytime. Even when his time was short here on earth he had a good sense of humor. It's nice to know he is still watching over us but is free from pain. (The picture at the top is of us on our wedding day visitng Grandpa Hap in the resthome. The one below is Jared and the other men carring Grandpa's casket.)

With the passing of Pres. Hinckley I keep thinking of all the things he taught me. He is the prophet I remember most. He has given me a lot of strength to keep moving forward through trials while in my teenage years. I have one of my favorite quotes by him posted at my desk at work, I read it daily. It reminds me to never give up and to keep going. I felt that is exactly what he always did. For an old man he had amazing strength and energy! He was an amazing man of faith, character, charity and so much more. I am so happy he is now again with his sweet wife. I have been reading and watching all that I can this week about his life. It is amazing how much I have learned more about him. One of my favoirte wedding gifts is an 8x10 picture of Pres. Hinckley made up of many snap snots of him. it is framed and sits on a shelf in our family room. I look at it daily and it makes he smile. He was such a happy, smiling man who really had the light of Christ in his eyes.

Here we are!

We have decided to get in the swing of things and start BLOGGING! Whew! This will be interesting, I (Davian) do not know how to #1 use a flash drive or #2 post pictures! I learned about a month ago how to attach a file to an e-mail. (Yeah! A skill to add to my resume.) So this will be up to Jared to teach me or up to me to have a lame blog that no one will ever want to look at.
Jared will start another semester on Monday at UVSC. He is looking forward to his guitar class. So am I, then maybe I can stop dusting the 2 guitars that sit in our family room and never get played!
We got a Cannon Elph digital camera for Christmas in hopes of taking more pictures of really good quality. So I really do hope to learn more so we can have an interesting blog to look at!
We hope 2008 is off to a good start for you all and hope to hear from you soon!
